Rain-blow! Whale spews more than just water as it hits the surface

Source: Rosanne Salvatore, New York Daily News

Want to see a whale do a magic trick?

A seemingly magical sea dweller was caught spouting water - and a rainbow - out of its blowhole. A rainbow is seen cascading out of the whale and into the deep sea along with spouted water.

Blowholes, located on top of a whale's head, are what the creatures use to breathe.

A whale watcher caught the phenomenon on tape during a 2011 cruise in Nova Scotia. Video of the miraculous refraction has now gone viral.

"It looks as if the whale is blowing a rainbow out of its blowhole," rsean9000 posted along with the video on YouTube.
