The Whale Museum has put together a chronology to the events surrounding Sooke's death. This will be updated as more information comes in so please keep checking back.
There was also live-stream video of the head dissection process taken by Scott Veirs of the Beam Reach Marine Science and Sustainability School. The video was broadcast on a website called "www.pokethedeadthing.com." Here is a link to their blog and the L-112 dissection.
As of today, we are still waiting for the proper permits to get the necropsy samples across the Canadian border to our pathologist. Again, it may take weeks or even months to get back all of the results from the samples collected. But, as they filter in, we will be posting them on our website. Thanks for your patience!
