Amid increasing threats posed by Luna (L-98), the orphaned orca living in Nootka Sound, B.C, the Canadian federal government will spend $10,000 over the next two months to monitor the whale. The funding will help implement the Luna Stewardship Plan -- an agreement between the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nation.
